World Hepatitis Day - Free Hepatitis B screening
MDS-Lancet Laboratories Ghana Limited (MDS-Lancet) collaborated with Noguchi Memorial Institute of Medical Research (NMIMR) and OK Foundation (OK) to provide free Hepatitis B screening on the 28th of July at the Madina STC Yard in Accra, to mark World Hepatitis Day which fell on 28th July.
MDS-Lancet and OK Foundation have worked together to offer free Hepatitis B screen for over fifteen (15) years as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.
It is in MDS-Lancet interest to educate the public that Hepatitis B is preventable hence they should get tested and vaccinated when negative.
Patients who test positive during this screening must be confirmed for being positive and see their physicians for management.
Four Hundred and Twenty-Five (425) participants were screened and Three Hundred and Sixty-Eight (368) were vaccinated on the day.
